A bevy of classic automobiles together with chamber-of-commerce weather combined to give visitors to Westhope’s car and motorcycle show Saturday a very enjoyable day out.
Cars from many past decades as well as motorcycles and tractors lined the south end of Main Street in Westhope during the second annual show. Tim’s Automotive of Westhope served as the show’s title sponsor.
“We’ve had an excellent turnout here this year,” said Tim Lesmann, owner of Tim’s Automotive. Lesmann has been one of the directors of the Westhope car and motorcycle show and also put on similar shows over the previous two years before Westhope’s began.
“There’s quite a few more this year, and we’ve also managed to get 25 bikes donated to give to the kids that have come here for the show,” Lesmann continued. “Local business and farmers around here have really pitched in and helped, and I love how much community involvement’s been coming into this show, and hopefully that continues.”
Automobile owners from Bottineau, Cando, Kenmare, Maxbass and Williston all had their cars on display at the show.
Seven trophies were handed out that afternoon. All were voted on by the show’s visitors, including an award for the most unique automobile on display.
