Staff Writer - Minot
Unique opportunity for the right candidate seeking an entry level position in journalism with distinct benefits. The Pierce County Tribune, a weekly affiliate of the Minot Daily News, is seeking a full-time staff writer/reporter. Responsibilities include developing story ideas, writing sport news, features, briefs and profiles on multiple topics from government to sports; as well as some photography, building relationships in the community, establishing sources and being a positive upbeat face of the paper to the readers of Pierce County. deadlines, drive and general awareness of AP style required. Ability to use Quark, familiarity with social media is beneficial. Journalism experience is a bonus but not required with some writing experience. Reporter - Williston
The Williston Herald, a 5-day-a-week morning paper at the heart of the North Dakota Oil Patch, is seeking an energetic reporter to cover college, prep and rec sports, as well as the outdoors scene. Sports in the Williston area feature two in-town high schools with a number of rural schools in the vicinity, as well as ACHA power Williston State College. The heart of the sporting life in Williston, however, is its outdoor scene. Pheasant hunting, ice fishing, curling, dirt track racing and the fast, unique and furious paddlefish season, are just a few of the year-round events that keep the sports scene here humming. We're looking for a reporter who can go beyond the gamer and tell the stories of victory, defeat and competition that turn people into sports fans. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in journalism or equivalent experience. Strong writing and photography skills are a must, as is a commitment to community journalism. FT Reporter - Valley City
Reporter/Journalist wanted. The Valley City Times-Record is looking for a reporter/journalist who is excited about taking a closer look at the communities of Valley City, Barnes County and the surrounding area to learn about its residents, its businesses, its biggest events, and more.
