Jamie Baker has accepted a position with the Bottineau Courant and will serve the newspaper as an advertising assistant.
Baker was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., where she was raised until the age of 10 when her family moved to Bottineau in 2005.
Baker is a 2011 graduate of Bottineau High School and holds an associate of arts degree in art from Dakota College at Bottineau, and is currently earning her associate of science degree in web design.
While attending Bottineau High School Baker created a logo which was chosen by Bottineau’s March of Hope to be the organization’s symbol in the group’s fight against cancer in Bottineau County.
With her studies in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and other design programs while studying at DCB, Baker will be creating and designing ads for the county’s newspaper.
Baker stated that she is pleased to begin her position at the Bottineau Courant.
“I am quite excited to work for the Courant,” Baker said. “I have worked in food service and at Dakota College’s library; so, this is a different experience for me which I am excited to start.”
In Baker’s spare time, she enjoys video games and drawing.
