Amsbaugh, Braaten and Neubauer qualify for state golf

Two Bottineau High student-athletes have qualified for this week’s North Dakota high school state golf championships.

Luke Amsbaugh, a junior on the boys’ side, and Bailey Newbauer, a senior on the girls’, both qualified.

The NDHSAA Class B boys’ state golf championship will take place Tuesday and Wednesday at the Rose Creek Golf Course in Fargo. The Class B girls’ competition is set to take place Tuesday and Wednesday at the CrossRoads Golf Club in Carrington.

Hunter Braaten, a senior from Westhope-Newburg, also qualified to take part in the boys’ event in Fargo.

His opening round will start Tuesday at 9:16 a.m. He is set to play that round with a foursome that includes fellow competitors from Dickinson Trinity, Park River Area and South Border.

Amsbaugh will tee off at 10:12 a.m. Tuesday alongside competitors from Beulah, Hatton-Northwood-Thompson and Napoleon-Gackle-Streeter.

Neubauer will get started Tuesday in Carrington at 9:48 a.m. in a foursome with competitors from Lisbon, Stanley and Pembina County North.
