DCB earns two Player of the Week honors

Two Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) basketball players were honored with MonDak Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 6.

Julian Vasquez of the Lumberjacks and Savannah Bruce for the Ladyjacks each earned the award for the first time this season.

Vasquez earned his award by dropping 40 points and shooting 56 percent from the field in a win over Bismarck State College on Jan. 9.

The sophomore also added eight rebounds, three assists and a steal.

The 6-foot, two-inch Vasquez is from Miami, Fla., and is a sophomore guard for the Jacks.

Bruce also earned her award by playing against the Mystics.

The freshman center had 22 points and 13 rebounds. She went to high school at St. John High School in nearby St. John, N.D.
