Adam Frykman has accepted a position with the Bottineau School Board as a member and will start his position immediately. He replaces Dr. Mark Pewe who has resigned his position due to personal reasons.

Frykman grew up in Bottineau and is a 1996 graduate of Bottineau High School. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in industrial technology-industrial management from the University of North Dakota in 2000.

Frykman is employed with Benchmarck Electronics as an engineering manager.

He is also a volunteer fireman for the Bottineau Fire Department and Metigoshe Dive Rescue Team and coaches youth football in the community.

Frykman is married and the couple have three children.

“I believe Adam will do a very good job on the board. He has been a part of the Bottineau Community and is a graduate of BHS,” said Jason Kersten, superintendent of Bottineau. “He is involved with various activities within the community and has young children coming through the system.  He will be a good fit.”

After Pewe resigned his position, the school board advertised for applicants concerning Pewe’s position on the board, which saw no results. The board then discussed candidates for the position and Kersten brought Frykman’s named to the table as a good candidate and was approved by the board.

Frykman will finish out the first year of Pewe’s three-year term that Pewe was elected to in the most recent election. After Frykman completes Pewe’s first year term, Frykman’s seat will then be placed on the June ballot for the school board election.

“At the next election, individuals can file for the remaining two years of this three year term,” Kersten said. “School board elections are normally held in June and those individuals voted in become part of the school board at the board’s annual meeting in July.”
