Westhope-Newburg (WN) fell 53-42 to Our Redeemer’s Christian School (ORCS) in a non-district match up last Friday night in Minot.

The score was close to start out as the Sioux trailed the Lady Knights by three after one quarter. ORCS expanded their lead to 18 by halftime, however, and by the end of the third they were up by 28.

WN made a comeback in the fourth quarter by holding the Knights to three fourth-quarter points and finishing on a 20-3 run.

However, the Lady Knights earned an 11-point win to give the Sioux their second loss this week.

Lauren Hendrickson and Morgan Olson had 15 points each to lead the Knights.

Morgan Kersten had a team-best 13 for the Sioux in her second start since Lauren Mach went out with an injury over the holiday break.

Junior Molly Lodoen added 10 and Amber Hall had nine points, while Hannah Tofteland added seven points in the loss.

WN (1-5) also played last night in a District 11 game against Sawyer in Newburg. However, scores and stats were unavailable by press time.

Next up for the Sioux is a date at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday in Stanley. The Sioux return home at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday to host Berthold in Westhope.
