Thompson joins the local police force as a deputy

Ryan Thompson has joined the Bottineau County Sheriff’s Department and will serve as deputy in the City of Bottineau for the law enforcement agency.

Thompson is a native of Minot and is a graduate of Minot High School.

He earned his undergraduate degree in criminal justice and social and behavioral science from the University of Mary in Bismarck.

He went on to graduate from Lake Region State College’s Peace Officer Training Academy at the Fargo division.

Thompson has been employed with Dunbar Armored as an armored security guard and crew chief for the armored transportation company in Fargo and as a deputy with the Renville County Sheriff’s Department in Mohall.

Thompson comes to Bottineau County Sheriff’s Department from Mohall and said that he looks forward to serving with the county’s police force.

“I am really excited and looking forward to this opportunity to learn and grow in my career,” Thompson said.
