Bottineau definitely had their hands full when they traveled to Burlington last Friday night.
The Braves basketball team had to take on the state-ranked Lakers of Des Lacs-Burlington.
What transpired was a loss to the Lakers as the Braves fell behind early and could not catch up, falling 82-46.
The DLB offense shot off from the get go and before the audience could blink they were up 24-11 and it was the end of the first quarter.
By halftime the deficit for the Braves was 19, and at the end of the third quarter it had swelled to 27.
Tanner Holte led the Lakers to the romp with a game-best 27 points. Chris Duke added 15 and Brett Schaefer had 12 as the DLB captured the victory over the Braves, now 1-2.
Bottineau was led by junior Christian St. Claire’s 16 points. Senior Garrett Pollman added 15 points, but the scoring dipped from there.
It was the only game for the Braves on the week, but they will return home next week for a pair of games before heading into the holiday break.
Bottineau will start the week with a 7:30 p.m. start tonight against Our Redeemer’s. On Friday they will remain on their home court as they host Langdon at 7 p.m.
Over the break they will play in the Mandan Holiday Tournament from Dec. 26-28.
