The names of the individuals who were involved in the two vehicle accident on Nov. 25 northwest of Souris have been released by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Johan Garcia, 25, of Houston, Texas, was driving a 2012 Chevy Silverado which crashed into Lyle Clegg, 53, of Antler, who was driving a 2013 Caterpillar semi-trailer which failed to caution through the intersection.
Garcia was injured and burned in the accident and was sent to a burn center.
Clegg was also injured, but his condition is not known.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP), Clegg was traveling from an oil site west of the crash site to a gravel pit when he failed to yield at the intersection. Clegg stated to the NDHP that he did not see Garcia’s vehicle, which was en route to the south on 4th Ave. NW.
As Garcia entered into the intersection he collided with the trailer of the semi. When the truck came out from under the trailer it went in to a ditch and a fire started.
