The Bottineau Community Christmas Tree was placed on Main Street this past week to kick-off the holiday season in Bottineau.
Gene Nehring donated the tree this year, which is a spruce tree that stands just over 22-feet.
On Wednesday evening, the Bottineau Chamber of Commerce held its annual tree lighting ceremony, which numerous individuals attended.
Those who attended the ceremony sang Christmas carols and were granted a variety of holiday treats served at the Bottineau Armory.
Keith Fulsebakke, city superintendent of Bottineau, is asking that individuals driving in the downtown business section to be careful while driving around the Christmas tree to keep the holiday season a safe one for everyone in Bottineau.
“People should be careful because this tree is fairly wide and it is a little difficult to see around it,” Fulsebakke said. “There are also no left turns at that intersection while the tree is up.
