Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) will be hosting one of the most unique traveling exhibits next week when they bring in NASA’s Discover Dome which brings the earth and more into clear view for all to enjoy.
“Whether it’s soaring through the galaxy or driving monster trucks on the moon, the Discovery Dome takes audiences on a journey not possible anywhere else,” stated the Houston Museum of Natural Science in association with NASA. “Our portable inflatable dome theater brings stars, planets, dinosaurs, volcanoes, tornadoes, DNA and much more.”
According to NASA’s Facebook page, “the Discovery Dome is a NASA-developed portable digital theater, using Newtonian mirrors or fisheye projection systems,” which grant individuals an insightful education right before their eyes to learn from and enjoy.
DCB will have the Discover Dome on its campus Nov. 25-27 for a variety of individuals to take in, include the general public.
“We will be doing shows every half hour staring at 8 a.m. throughout the days the Discovery Dome is on our campus,” said Angie Bartholomay, science instructor at DCB. “On Monday evening from 4:30 to 8 p.m. the college will be having a Friends, Family and Community Night for people to take in.”
The Discovery Dome will be located at the Nelson Science Center on DCB campus. A presentation in the dome is 30 minutes.
