An individual from the state of Washington has been arrested for burglary of a local downtown business and is currently in jail at Rugby’s correctional facility awaiting his first appearance in district court in Bottineau.
Pavel Zinchenko, 55, of Spokane, Wash., has been arrested by the Bottineau County Sheriff’s Department after entering into Brad and Sheila Sturlaugson’s embroidering and boutique business, The Cool Moose, and stealing merchandise, which Sheila Sturlaugson is estimating to be worth $3,000.
No formal charges have been placed against Zinchenko over The Cool Moose incident because he has not made his first appearance in district court for the arrest.
Documents from the Clerk of Courts Office show eight open cases against Zinchenko where he has made his initial appearance in court, which include two felony charges of theft of property, one misdemeanor charge of theft of property, three misdemeanor charges of criminal trespass and two administrative traffic e-citations on speeding and failing to wear a seat belt.
No other information is being given out on the cases due to future court hearings.
