The Dakota College at Bottineau Lumberjacks won their fifth straight contest last Sunday as they edged Concordia JV 27-20 in Moorhead.

A first possession score helped the Lumberjacks stick it to the Cobbers early.

DCB’s defense got the ball back with great field position after a Concordia JV turnover on the next possession, but the Jacks turned the ball back over to the Cobbers.

For the rest of the game Jacks head coach Tim Pfeifer stated that it was a struggle, especially offensively.

“The rest of the game was a struggle on offense as the same things continue to hurt the offense,” Pfeifer stated. “We continue to hurt ourselves with penalties and turnovers.”

Defensively Pfeifer was impressed with the solidity of the Jacks.

“The defense played a solid game and came up with a big stop in the end to win the game for us,” Pfeifer stated.

DCB is now 6-1 on the season. Their win last week against North Dakota State College of Science was a program record fifth win.

The Jacks return home at 6 p.m. on Friday to take on Mayville State JV, and look to make it six straight.

DCB beat the Comets in Mayville back on Sept. 19 by a score of 37-7
