County's officers arrest nine people on drug charges

Through a search warrant issued in the city of Bottineau, the Bottineau County Sheriff’s Office executed a search and arrested five Dakota College at Bottineau football players on a variety of criminal charges pertaining to drugs.
Jamal Lewis, 20, Houston, Texas; Devon Jackson, 20, Washington, D.C.; Da’Robert Tezino, 19, Houston, Texas; Evans Norris, 22, Houston, Texas and Terrance Davis, 26, Miami, Fla. were all arrested with the following charges.
- Lewis: Charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and ingestion of marijuana
- Jackson: Charged with possession of marijuana
- Tezino: Charged with the possession and ingestion of marijuana
- Norris: Charged with possession of marijuana and ingestion of marijuana
- Davis: Charged with possession of marijuana, ingestion of marijuana and a felony charge of maintaining a place for illegal drug consumption, storage and sale
The five players have been booked into the Bottineau County jail and made their initial court appearances on Oct. 8 in the Bottineau County District Court.
According to Dr. Ken Grosz, dean of Dakota College at Bottineau, this incident is also under investigation by DCB.
“We are handling it internally here and we are taking appropriate disciplinary action,” Grosz said. “We are taking this very seriously. It is not the type of activity we in any way condone or will sweep under the rug. There will be ramifications for those involved.”
Due to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, the actions, or its outcomes, of this internal investigation will not be divulged to the public.
In other Bottineau County Sheriff’s Office news, the sheriff’s department stated that four Bottineau County residents were arrested on drug charges earlier this year, which includes Roger Allison, 63, Willow City; Joseph Hagen, 27, Willow City; Loren Borgerson, 59, Lake Metigoshe and Ryan Koch, 19, Bottineau.
The four men were charged with the following charges.
- Allison: Charged with felony possession of marijuana
- Hagen: Charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver
- Borgerson: Charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and two counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance
- Koch: Charged with two counts of delivery of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance
“All of these cases have resulted in convictions with the exception of Davis and Borgerson, which are still pending,” said Steve
Watson, sheriff of Bottineau County, who added that U.S. Border Patrol, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, North Dakota Game and Fish and the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigations assisted in the cases.
