In Evergreen’s 30th anniversary, Dakota College at Bottineau saw a triumphant event in a new venue, lots of costumes matching its theme and breaking the Foundation’s Office old record by $7,000.

The anniversary fund raiser event was held at the Cobblestone Inn and Suites and brought 300 individuals to Evergreen.

The theme for this year’s occasion was the Great Gatsby, which is characteristic for pearls and is the gem stone for gifts of a 30 year anniversary. A number of individuals came dolled up for the event dressed in 1920s attire and putting on the bee’s knees for the affair.
Evergreen held its annual silent and live auction to raise money for scholarships at the local college and raised $59,295, which broke last year’s all time record of $41,806.

Rod Hiatt was the auctioneer, who has been the caller for all 30 years of Evergreen.

The co-chairs for this year Evergreen was Pamela Smith and Jessica Tagestad, while Amanda Artz conducted the decorations and Kim Bernstein managed the auction items.

The director of Dakota College at Bottineau’s Foundation Office, Brandy Simpson, was pleased with the event.

“I feel Evergreen was a huge success. It was wonderful to celebrate 30 years of a successful event,” Simpson said. “The theme went well and it was great to see so many people dressed up.”
