The Bottineau Stars had only one match this past week, so all their focus was on the Our Redeemers Knights this past Tuesday.
The Stars went to Minot to play the Knights, and both teams came out swinging.
Our Redeemers took a match lead with a 25-20 set one victory.
Drama set in, as both teams scored back and forth in the second set. It stayed close throughout, but the Knights again took the upper hand late and edged out the Stars 26-24.
From there it only took a 25-14 win in set three to close out the match with a sweep.
Our Redeemers’ Morgan Olson led all hitters with 13 kills and Lauren Hendrickson had a match-best 19 digs.
For the Stars senior Courtney Gallagher had her best effort of the season with 11 kills. Danielle McDonald added six kills, two aces, three blocks and 16 digs. Fellow senior Rachael Fix had a team-best 18 digs and Bailey Neubauer had 21 assists in the loss.
