Jackie Miller, a forward for the Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) Ladyjacks basketball team the past two years, recently signed with Presentation College to continue her collegiate career.
Miller averaged 14.5 points for the Ladyjacks as a freshman and 16.3 points per game as a sophomore. Her leadership led the Ladyjacks to a Region XIII title, for which she was named Most Valuable Player of the region tournament.
“Jackie has a great knack to score the basketball. She is a match up headache for any team with her great perimeter shooting and excellent post moves,” stated Ladyjacks head coach Wayne Johnson. “Jackie had a great career for us and leaves big shoes to fill as an offensive weapon.”
She was also named All-MonDak in both seasons at DCB.
“Just as difficult to replace will be her traits as a leader and competitor. I really thought she demonstrated her competitiveness in willing us to our region championship,” Johnson stated. “She will be greatly missed.”
Presentation College is a four-year NAIA II school. They are set to be one of the charter members of the North Star Athletic Association.
“We are extremely pleased and happy for Jackie as she takes the next big step in her basketball career,” Johnson stated. “ We are proud to have had Jackie in our program and are excited to follow her career at the NAIA level.”
Miller is a five-foot, nine-inch forward, who is originally from Mohall, N.D.
