Three men have been charged in connection of the murder of a Dakota College at Bottineau student a little more than a month after he was shot and killed in Maywood, Ill. according to a Chicago Tribune report.
Denzel Edwards, 20, and Larry Ankum, 28, were charged with first degree murder involving the shooting of Dashamone McCarty.
McCarty was traveling with friends when he was struck in the head with a bullet from a passing car and later died in the hospital on May 15.
During the investigation police determined that another person in the car with McCarty, Deaundre Carey, 20, had possessed a handgun and drugs. He was charged with unlawful use of a weapon and is out on bond.
McCarty had recently returned home to the suburban Chicago neighborhood after he had completed a successful year on the DCB football and basketball teams when he was tragically murdered.
Edwards is being held on $750,000 bond and Ankum was set to be in court yesterday to determine his bond.
