Legion baseball season starts on Friday

Bottineau Post No. 42 legion baseball begins their summer season with a road game at 5:30 p.m. on Friday in Velva.

Bottineau has 14 game scheduled for the regular season, excluding a home tournament that will take place beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 22.

Bottineau’s first home game is at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 14 against Burlington.

The Legion Sectional Tournament will take place July 24-28 in Cando, N.D.

The State Legion Tournament begins on July 31 in Beulah.

Bottineau went 21-8 last season, which ended at sectionals.

Bottineau, a three seed in last year’s tournament, was upset in the first round by Surrey and later eliminated on the tournament’s third day by eventual champion Velva.

Babe Ruth and Pewee/Midgets seasons to begin

The Babe Ruth baseball season began yesterday as the team traveled to play Rugby.

The Bottineau Babe Ruth team has 23 games scheduled for the regular season.

The Babe Ruth League Tournament will be in Rugby from July 15-18.

Babe Ruth Regions will be on July 22 and 23. The State Tournament is from July 31-August 3.

The PeeWee/Midget season begins on Thursday with a game at Surrey.

They have nine games and 11 tournaments on the schedule for this season.
