Bottineau School Board holds special meeting

The Bottineau School Board held a special meeting this week to discuss the resignation of several teachers, and the hiring of two new staff members.
The school board approved Superintendent Kersten’s hiring of a sixth grade teacher and seven through nine learning disabilities instructor. Lisa Ressler has been hired as the new sixth grade teacher. Ressler has a bachelors in elementary education from Minot State University. She also has Kindergarten endorsement and reading credentials.
Ressler has been working as a paraprofessional in Bottineau since 2011. Prior to joining the BPS staff, Ressler taught kindergarten in Starkweather for two years.
Sara LaFromboise has been hired as the new seven through nine learning disabilities instructor. LaFromboise graduated from Mayville State University with a degree in elementary education.
LaFromboise continued her education at University of North Dakota, graduating with a master of science, and minor in special education strategist.
LaFrombiose served as Dunsieth’s Learning Disabilities Teacher from 2007 to present.
The board also approved the resignation of four staff members at BPS. Those resigning from BPS are Julie Dahl, Kellie Amsbaugh, Sharon Nelson and Barb Williamson. Dahl and Nelson both worked as kitchen staff for eight and five years, respectively. Amsbaugh and Williamson were both paraeducators for BPS.
