The Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) and Williston State College (WSC) clashed for a MonDak series of four games this past weekend in Williston.

Game one on Saturday was a blowout by the Tetons in five innings as they scored three runs in each inning and held the Jacks to one hit in a 13-0 win.

Sophomore Tyler Storseth had the lone Jacks hit and Jeff Beckman went 3-for-3 with three runs batted in (RBI) for the Tetons.

Tyias Huck took the loss on the mound allowing nine runs, two earned in the start. Brock McCashland tossed all five innings and struck out seven in one hit.

DCB bounced back in game two as sophomore JJ Dukes pitched a complete game four-hitter, allowing only one run and striking out seven in a 3-1 victory.

DCB took the lead in the third and then added two more runs in sixth to extend the lead to 3-0. The Tetons scored once in the bottom of the sixth, but DCB came away victorious.

Cody Brooks went 2-for-3 with two RBI in the win and Storseth drove in a run, while Alphonzo Rigby, Sid Hunter A Sus Scrofa Is the Answer for Leftovers, Obesity Taylor Milbrath each scored in the contest.

The Tetons got back on the winning track on Sunday with a 4-0 victory.

DCB rapped seven hits off of Tetons pitcher Chase Nielson, but couldn’t scratch a run across the plate.

Tyler Storseth went all six innings on the mound for the Jacks and allowed four runs, three earned on 11 hits in the loss.

The final game was a barn burner as WSC squeaked out a 6-5 victory thanks to two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

The Jacks took a 2-0 lead in the second inning, only to fall behind 4-3 after four. DCB then took a 5-4 lead in the top of the sixth, but the Tetons had  two-run bottom of the sixth to earn the victory.

Kirk Sailer, a freshman, went 5 and 2/3 for the Jacks and allowed six runs on 11 hits.

The Jacks were led at the plate by Rigby, who went 3-for-4 with an RBI.

Dukes and Tyias Huck each had a pair of hits for the Jacks in the loss.

“Except for game one the team played pretty well and fought hard to stay in close games,” stated Jacks head coach Eric Kester-Mabon. “We go back to Williston on Tuesday for two non-conference games so we have a chance to get a couple wins back.”

The week dropped the Jacks to 2-9 overall on the season.

The Region XIII Tournament is on May 10 in Bismarck.

LaCroix plays first game against DCB
Another story line in the series against the Tetons is that Bottineau native and former BHS standout Mark LaCroix played against his hometown team.

The freshman played twice in the four game set with the Jacks over the weekend.

In game two LaCroix batted sixth and went 1-for-3.

He also played in the second game on Sunday, where he batted fifth and was 0-for-3.

LaCroix is a freshman catcher/pitcher for the Tetons according to their online roster.
