Editorial: Courant receives 19 awards

Over the weekend, the North Dakota Newspaper Association held its state convention in Rapid City, S.D. in association with the South Dakota Newspaper Association. During the award ceremony the Bottineau Courant received 19 awards in the circulation category of 2000 or more subscribers.

Bottineau Courant staff members earned multiple distinctions including:

  •  LYNN EVENSON: Vehicle Ad – First Place for Theels Back to School; Ad Series – First Place for Lervik & Johnson; Political Ad – Second Place for Vote Democrats; Entertainment-Liquor Ad – Second Place for A-Frame Bar & Grill: Blue Moon; Small Space Ad – Third Place for Library: Get Lost; Agricultural Ad – Third Place for Weed Managers and Food Ad – Honorable Mention for A-Frame Bar & Grill: Father’s Day.

 

  •  SCOTT WAGAR: Feature Reporting Series - First Place for San Haven – a history of saving lives from TB and Feature Photo – Honorable Mention for Willow City.

 

  •  TYLER OHMANN: Sports Feature – First Place for Millican: Bottineau’s scoring machine; Sports Photo – First Place for Roar; Reporting Series - Third Place for Jeff Parness visits Bottineau to finalize Annie’s House plans and Picture Story – Honorable Mention for County Fair.

 

  •  LESLIE BAKER: Food Ad – First Place for Norway House: Valentine’s Day and Third Place for A-Frame Bar & Grill: Mother’s Day; Use of Color – Third Place for Danielle’s Hair Studio and Honorable Mention for A-Frame Day of the dead and Single Ad – Honorable Mention for Watch your pets.

 

  •  HEATHER MILBRATH: Agricultural Coverage – Third Place for Family traditions for two young farmers.
