The Dakota College at Bottineau softball team signed their second player for the 2014 season. Taylor Glass, a pitcher from Bullhead City, Ariz., recently signed a letter of intent to be a pitcher for the Ladyjacks next season.

“We are extremely excited to have signed someone as talented as Taylor to play for the Ladyjacks,” stated Ladyjacks assistant coach Mike Getzloff.

Glass has started for four years on the varsity team at the Mohave Accelerated Learning Center. During her sophomore and junior campaigns Glass went 24-0 and led her team to two straight state championships.

Glass was named to the first team all-state and was named the teams defensive MVP.

Last summer Glass played for the Desert Arsenal a team based out of Las Vegas. During that season she finished with a 21-11 record and had a 1.22 Earned Run Average and held opponents to a .145 batting average. She struck out 123 batters in 32 games.

“I have followed Taylor’s high school and summer league ball for the past two years and although I have not seen her throw, her stats show just how talented she is,” Getzloff stated. “Her coaches give her high marks on and off the field as well as in the classroom.”

Glass throws a variety of pitches including a drop, rise and drop-curve to go along with a fastball and a changeup. Glass’s fastball ranges from 57 to 60 miles per hour and has been clocked as high as 63 miles per hour.

Glass plans on spending the summer playing for Team-USA in Europe.
