Sioux advance to region semifinals

The Westhope-Newburg Sioux boy’s basketball team advanced to the Region 6 semifinals with a 67-57 win over Our Redeemers last night in Minot.
The Sioux led most of the game, including by three at halftime and by six at the end of the three quarters.

Our Redeemers cut the lead to two with just over three minutes left, but the Sioux went on a run to earn the victory.

Hunter Braaten led the Sioux with 21 points. Senior Kodie Hancock added 17 points.

The Knights were led by Micah Jacobson who finished with 18 points in the losing effort.

Westhope-Newburg advanced to play Berthold at 6 p.m. tonight in Minot. The winner of that advances to the Region 6 Championship game at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
