The Bottineau Branch of Farm Credit Services of North Dakota moved into its new building over the weekend and opened its doors for business this morning.
“The original Farm Credit Services building was built in 1970. The maximum capacity was for six people and we now have eight, so it is evident we outgrew our space,” said Teresa Kjellberg, market director for Farm Credit Services of North Dakota in Minot, N.D. “The new building was a definite need for additional space and also reflects our long term commitment to the Bottineau community and surrounding areas.”
The former building had 2,200 square feet, while the new building holds 6,200 square feet. The building has a reception area, numerous offices and an area/meeting room which will be available for the community to use for meetings.
The building will also have a community art piece for individuals to enjoy.
“You will also notice some unique artwork on one wall in the main area. The artist is Cleo Yoder from Wolford, N.D,” Kjellberg said. “The mural, which is sculptured done with dry wall compound, depicts old Bottineau scenes on one side and newer on the other. It is a merging of old and new.”
The new facility will continue to serve FCS’s patrons at its new location, and although there is a new address to the building, all remaining contacts will stay the same.
“The new address is 1308 Highway 5 NE, Bottineau, ND 58318,” Kjellberg said. “The phone and fax numbers will all remain the same.”
There will be an open house for the building sometime in early April.
