After falling on the road to the Stars last Tuesday the Westhope-Newburg Sioux girl’s basketball team dropped another District 11 contest last Friday at home against Rugby.

Rugby dominated most of the game as they had a seven point lead at the end of the first, a 15-point lead at halftime and concluded with a 64-31 win.
It was the final game in Westhope for the Sioux this season. The loss dropped the Sioux to 1-13 overall and 1-5 in district play.

Lauren Mach led the Sioux with eight points. Senior Jade Teske added seven points and fellow seniors Hadlee Schell and Bailey Tofteland each had six points.

Taylor Wangerin had 15 points to lead the Panthers, who had 10 players score in the win.
The Sioux play their final home game at 7 p.m. tonight in Newburg as they host Drake-Anamoose.

The game is also the final regular season district contest for the Sioux.
