Stars fall to Knights in Minot

The Bottineau Stars followed up their win over Westhope-Newburg last Tuesday with a hard-fought game last Thursday in Minot against Our Redeemer’s Christian School.
After a strong start Bottineau led 16-10 after the first quarter over the Knights. However, from then on, the game belonged to the Knights. By halftime the Knights led by seven, and they stretched that lead to 19 after three quarters.
Bottineau made a surge in the final quarter, but the Knights hung on for a 63-48 win.
Stars junior Danielle McDonald led all scorers with 19 points. Stepahanie Brenden added eight and Whtiney Brandvold had seven in the losing effort.
Four Knights were in double figures led by Jenny Skees’ 15 points.
The loss to the Region 6 foe dropped the Stars to 4-11 overall on the season, Bottineau concludes their regular season district play at 7:30 p.m. tonight at home against Sawyer.
The Stars also hosted North Star last night, but scores and stats weren’t available by press time.
