Individuals, who are looking for unique antiques, along with well crafted wood items, will want to check out Bottineau’s newest business, The Shop, owned by Bob and Karen Bergman.
“We’ve collected so much stuff over the years we thought we’d open up a store,” Bob said. “We thought it was just time to do this.”
The Shop is just that, Bob’s woodworking shop.
“We took the front room and made it into a display area, while the remaining of the building will continue to be my workshop,” Bob said.
Individuals who go into the The Shop will discover some distinctive antiques, some of which include furniture, musical instruments, tools, dishes and glassware, bottles and tins, home and kitchen products and so much more.
For individuals who walk into the Bergmans’ business, it will be like walking back in time. Folks will have the chance to see and purchase rare tobacco tins, antique wood radios and even gas operated clothes irons, just to names a few items.
Along with the antiques, Bob, who is craftsman with many skills, has a number of his wood crafted items for sale. From wood bowls he has hewed, to walking sticks and canes he has created, Bob is selling a number of his pieces in the store’s showroom.
Bob has also added his newest addition from his workshop, turning bowls, which consist of bowls and vases made up of many pieces of wood.
The Shop’s hours do differ each day, but for the most part Bob and Karen’s business is open from 9 a.m. to noon during the week. However, by calling 871-9830 or 228-4898, individuals can set-up appointments with Bob and Karen.
The Shop is located just north of town directly behind the Bottineau Farmers Elevator’s, BFE Oil. gas station.
