A trip to Dunseith to kick off District 11 play did not fair well for the Bottineau Braves last Monday.
The Dragons put up big numbers, including 51 first-half points in route to an 81-44 victory over the Braves.
Nine Dragon players scored in the contest, including three in double figures and two within one basket of double figures.
All scorers were led by Dunseith’s Trace Azure, who had 23 points in the game. Cory Poitra added 16 for the Dragons and Devon Davis had 11 in the huge win.
As for the Braves, they were led by juniors Garrett Pollman (13 points) and Phillip Neubauer (12 points). Senior Trevor Wettlaufer had 11 for Bottineau in the loss.
Bottineau looked to regroup last night as they traveled to Sawyer to continue their district play. However, scores and stats were unavailable by press time. The next game for Bottineau will be at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday as they host inter-county rival Westhope-Newburg. Following that the Braves will play in Minot against Berthold on Friday in a rematch of last year’s Region 6 Tournament title game.
