Denny Ziegler has accepted a position with Dakota College at Bottineau and will serve the college as the associate dean of student services. He replaces Paula Berg who is retiring from DCB at the end of this year.

Ziegler was born and raised in the Cleveland, Ohio. He received his high school diploma from Holy Name High School and earned his B.A. degree in business management at Otterbein College. Ziegler went on to graduate school at Marietta University in southeast Ohio where he graduated with Master’s degree in Leadership management.

For the past eight years, Ziegler, who played colligate football and baseball, has been employed by a number of colleges as a coach in a variety of different ways. While at Marietta, he was a graduate assistant coach for the college’s football team. He was also the resident director of a co-ed upper class resident hall of 250 students, where he supervised seven resident assistants.

Ziegler then accepted a position at Valley City State University as an assistant football coach and the resident director of two residential halls on VCSU’s campus.

From Valley City, Ziegler went to Kenyon College in Ohio where he was an assistant football and baseball coach, but left that college for Carlton College in Northfield, Minn., where he was named a fulltime coach for the college’s football team.

With changes in Carlton College’s football staff, and degrees in business and leadership management, Ziegler accepted the associate dean of student services position at DCB.

His duties with Bottineau’s college will include being in charge of the registrar; maintaining class schedules; directing the financial aid, admission and resident life departments; serving on the dean council and being part of statewide committees concerning DCB.

Ziegler is married and his wife, Tiffany, works for North Central Education Cooperative on the campus of DCB. She is also an assistant coach for the women’s basketball team at the college.

The Zieglers have an eight month old boy and in their spare time they enjoy traveling, working out and watching movies.
