St. Andrew’s Ladies Auxiliary during its annual Holly House Bazaar raised thousands of dollars which is being used to assist a number of departments within the health center.

Each year during the holiday season, the auxiliary holds a craft and bake sale through its Holly House Bazaar that raises money specifically for the employees of the hospital to improve their departments.

During this year’s bazaar, 170 individuals attended the event and raised over $4,000. With the money the group raised they purchased a $4,700 microscope for the laboratory, accessories for the kitchen and added two more Medical Alert systems for the hospital, which now brings the total of systems purchased by the auxiliary this year to five.

The Ladies Auxiliary also had two raffles at the craft and bake sale where Susan Dahle won the Samsung 40” HDTV that was donated by Walmart, while Don Indvik won a Hardanger Doll/Wall hanging.

Mona Marchus, auxiliary member who was in charge of the 2012 Holly House Bazaar, stated that the success they saw this year wouldn’t have happened if not for a special group of people.

“We like to thank the community for the support they brought to the craft and bake sale,” Marchus said. “The gifts we give the different departments assists the hospital employees, which also assists the community members when they come to the hospital for medical care. So, we are glad for the community turnout. It is a win-win situation for everyone.”

So far in 2012, the Ladies Auxiliary at St. Andrew’s Health Facility has raised $11,900 for the medical facility.
