Dakota College at Bottineau’s football team closed out their season the right way last Saturday as they exacted revenge by beating the Trinity Bible College Lions 37-24 in Ellendale.

Head coach Tim Pfeifer pointed toward a much improved offensive play as the key to the win.

“The Jacks were able to move the ball the first two series but ended up in turnovers,” Pfeifer stated. “After we were able to settle down the offense played its best ball of the season. The defense was solid again except for about three pass plays.”

The win pushed the Jacks final record to 2-6. They lost each of their first six contests, but wound up winning their final two as they beat Mayville State JV 30-7 last week and the win this past weekend.

“It was a good way for our sophomores to go out and hopefully gave our freshman some confidence for next year,” Pfeifer stated.

Pfeifer has already started looking toward next year as the Jacks hope to improve in their fifth year of existence in 2013.

“We now turn our attention to recruiting for next year. We have had lots of emails and interest already,” Pfeifer stated.
