The Stars continued their strong week with a second District 11 win after a clean sweep of the Drake-Anamoose Lady Raiders in Drake on Thursday night.

While the Lady Raiders kept the games close the Stars were able to close out all three sets, 25-18 in set one, 25-21 in set two and 25-23 in the third set.
Again Hahn was a big factor in the middle for Bottineau. The senior had team-bests in kills (12), blocks (four) and digs (10).

Junior Danielle McDonald, who returned the week from injury, also played well for the Stars as she had nine digs, nine kills and a team-high five ace serves.

Juniors Karlee McCloud and Rachael Fix also had strong performances each digging out eight shots and smacking two ace serves.

The win pushed the Stars to 2-1 in district play and 12-5 overall. Their next match will be against another district opponent, Dunseith at 7 p.m. tonight in Bottineau.

The wins spurns the Stars toward their goal of district champions according to Gallagher.

“I’m really looking forward to districts,” Gallagher said. “Our goal is to come out on top in districts, and that’s what we’re going to work on, and we’ll see where it goes from there.”
