Angela Bender has recently opened the Bottineau Escrow Agency and will offer the service of closing real estate and land loans for those individuals who are purchasing property.

“I work with the lender and realtor to get everything put together for individuals who are purchasing real estate,” Bender said. “I put the numbers together, settle the amount to be paid and distribute the money where it belongs.”

Bender was approached by John Gregg, a local attorney and closer who made the decision to retire, and asked her if she would have an interest in taking over his escrow business, which Bender agreed to.

Bender, who is a Newburg High School graduate, has spent the majority of her career working as an accountant, with five years at Souris River Telephone in Minot and the past three years at St. Michel Furniture in Rugby.

Individuals in the area are fortunate in having Bender open an escrow office in Bottineau because the next available office is outside county and is currently conducting a great deal of business with development and expansion in its community.

“If I wasn’t here, people would have to close in Minot at Minot Abstract and I understand they are currently doing around 175 loans a week, which means they are busy,” Bender said. “So, because of this it was one of the factors I made in taking over John’s business because with me taking over, closing can continue locally, which makes it better for the bankers, the realtors and the clients we work for.”

Bender’s escrow service is not just limited to the local area.

“Anybody can use my service, not just local people and I am always looking to expand to anybody who needs me with their real estate or land property.”

Bender stated that she is pleased with the opportunity in having her own business and being back in Bottineau.

“I am excited in having this business and grateful to be back in the Bottineau community,” she said. “I am also grateful that we can keep a business locally and that we can keep clients, realtors  and bankers in a good working relationship so we can help out people locally.”

Bender is also grateful for all the support she’s received.

“I appreciate my family and friends for all the support and encouragement they have given  me,” Bender said.
