Serious accident occurs in Bottineau County near Kramer on a gravel road

In Bottineau County over the weekend, a man suffered a fatal injury in a one car roll over, while a passenger in the vehicle sustained injuries.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, on Saturday afternoon, Zachary Reinoehl, 20, was driving a 1998 Pontiac minivan with a passenger, Austin Kerslake, 18, down White Spur Road going south toward Kramer when Reinoehl lost control of the vehicle and entered into the east side ditch and rolled over. The minivan came to a rest upright in the ditch, but Reinoehl and Kerslake were both thrown from the vehicle.

Emergency rescue was called to the scene at 4:44 p.m. from Bottineau. Once at the scene, Reinoehl was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Kerslake sustained injuries and was transported to St. Andrew’s Health Center by the Bottineau Ambulance service. He was then taken to Trinity Hospital in Minot by helicopter for medical care.
The occupants of the vehicle were not wearing seat belts.

The crash is still under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
