A new business on Main Street in Elgin is Northern Elite Contracting.
Owner Matt McRae came to North Dakota from Arizona in search of contracting jobs in the Minot area as a result of the oil boom.
While checking out the prospects in Minot, he had the opportunity to stay here in Elgin and realized that there was a need for a contracting business right here.
McRae rented the old bank building on Main Street in Elgin and began setting up shop.
McRae’s company is licensed and insured and has a licensed plumber on staff. “That is something that is very beneficial to have in the contracting business,” said McRae. He added that he has 12 employees on staff.
“This is a very service oriented company and we do quality work. We plan to stick around here for awhile as long as we are busy,” said McRae.
The company handles all sizes of jobs from new builds, remodels, framing, concrete work, repairs from fire or floods, window and door replacement, small repairs, gazebos, porches and decks and roofs.
Currently, the company is working hard on a new house on the east side of Elgin.
McRae works closely with his construction manager Fred Gifford and states that if you are unable to get a hold of him, to call Gifford at 951-634-8297.
