August means that summer is nearly over, which also means the school year is just around the corner.
With that comes fall sports, and volleyball is no exception.
Bottineau High School volleyball practice begins at 9 a.m., Monday, Aug. 13 for grades 9-12 in the high school gym.
For grades 7-8 practice will start at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 16.
The NDHSAA requires each athlete to have a physical every year. The school needs a current physical on file before he or she is allowed to practice.
Any questions can be directed to BHS volleyball Head Coach Steve Dunrud at (701) 228-2266 (school) or (701) 550-0627 (cell).
Dunrud is in his first year as head coach, and inherited a team that has finished runner-up in Region 6 for two consecutive years. Three All-Region Stars graduated last year, Ashleigh Aufforth (DCB), Whitney Page (UND) and Heidi Artz. The Stars finished with a record of 29-10.
