After closing for a brief period, the Red Wing Diner in Willow City, N.D. has re-opened with new owners.
Nancy Hoffert and Candice Fulsebakke have decided to take their chances running the drive in on the north side of Willow City.
“We kind of did it on a spur of the moment kind of thing,” Hoffert said. “We had kind of talked about it before, and we thought it might be interesting to jump into it.”
The diner has gone through a few owners in the past couple of years. It was most recently opened by Glen and Sadie Oppen of rural Towner, N.D., but was open for only a short time.
Hoffert said that the re-opening has gone really well and that support from the area has been overwhelming.
“The community is very supportive and we couldn’t ask for better people,” Hoffert said.
The Red Wing Diner will be open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday according to Hoffert.
Hoffert and Fulsebakke chose a good time to re-open the diner as Willow City will become flooded with people for the 125th celebration of the town that takes place this weekend.
