The Bottineau legion baseball team traveled to Rolette on Friday and nabbed two games from the rivals in a makeup doubleheader.

In game one Bottineau used offensive fire power to down Rolette 12-2 in six innings. The second game proved to be closer as Bottineau came away with a 7-6 win in the five-inning game.

In game one a six-run first inning fueled a hefty Bottineau win as nearly everyone got in the action and Bottineau batted around.

Picking up hits in the inning were Justin McCloud, Ging Martin and Zach Johnson. Bottineau added three more in the fourth, two in the fifth and a final run in the sixth to close out Rolette an inning early by 10-run rule.

Mark LaCroix pitched all six innings for Bottineau, allowing four hits and two runs in the second inning, but striking out four as well.

Johnson finished 2-for-3 with two runs and an run batted in (RBI). Martin and Hunter Braaten each finished with two RBI in the win for Bottineau.

In game two things became a little more difficult for Bottineau as they needed a three run third inning and a one, two, three inning on defense in the fifth to stay on top of Rolette 7-6.

Andrew Hill scored three times in the first three innings from his lead off spot on a 2-for-2 day at the plate.

McCloud was also 2-for-2 in the win with three RBI and two stolen bases. Martin was also a perfect 2-for-2 from the plate and had a pair of stolen bases and a run scored.

Martin and Hill split the duties on the mound as Hill came in and pitched the final two and a third well by striking out five of the eight batters he faced.

Bottineau has now won five of the first six games this season. They will play tonight in Mohall at 5 p.m. and will then host Harvey on Thursday at 5 p.m.
