Three Bottineau County female athletes also competed at state last Tuesday and Friday at the Cross Roads of Carrington.
Ashley Blue of Bottineau and Jade Teske and Kylee Conway of Westhope-Newburg battled the conditions in Carrington.
Best finisher of the three was Teske, who after totaling 98 on day one, fired a superb 90 on day two to jump up to 43rd place.
Conway shot a 98 on day one and a 97 on day two to take 56th place overall.
Blue, who along with Teske qualified for state last year, shot 196 total to finish in 57th place. She shot an even 100 on day one as she got into some trouble in the water, and a 96 on day two.
Sammi Cottingham of Central McLean was the only Region 4 golfer in the top 10 or All-State category. She shot rounds of 85 and 82 to take sixth place.
Kindred, much like the boys, dominated and took first place easily. They breezed past second place Hazen by 32 strokes to take home a 37-stroke victory.
Also like the boys a Viking was atop the individual leaderboard as well. Laura Podolak shot totals of 83 and an impressive 72 for a 155 total to win the tournament by five strokes over Grafton’s Ali Burns.
Podolak and Burns were the only golfers to break 80 on either day of the tournament.
Blue and Teske were both juniors, and Conway was a graduating senior.
