Westhope-Newburg softball gets first win

The Westhope-Newburg fastpitch girls were in action May 11-12 at the East-West Crossover in Grafton.
They played four games in two days.
The Sioux took on the Spoliers from Grafton the first game. The Spoilers jumped out early and took a big lead and never looked back winning the game by a score of 30-1. Molly Lodoen scored the lone run for the Sioux.
The second game featured the Sioux against Thompson. After Thompson scored 10 in the first the Sioux battled back and made it a game. Thompson won by a score of 14-8.
Stat Leader- Ashlyn Huber 1-2, 3 SB, Amber Hall 1-3, double, 2 RBI, Becca Christenson 1-3, double, RBI.
In the third game the Sioux took on Pembina County-North. Pembina County-North got an early lead and finished winning by a score of 19-9.
Stat Leaders: Lauren Mach 1-1, SB, Rylee Lodoen 1-2, 2 RBI, Huber 2-4, SB, and Becca Christenson 2-4, 2 SB.
The fourth and final game for the Sioux came against Dakota Prairie. This ended up in the Sioux favor with the Sioux getting their first varsity win for their young program. The Sioux won by a score of 15-5

Ashlyn Huber got the first win for the Sioux program.
Becca Christenson went 6-12 on the weekend from the plate.
Hadlee Schell went 5-7 from the plate on the weekend.
The Sioux were back in action last weekend at the Northern Regional in Grafton. Results were unavailable.
