Fashion conscious females have a new place to shop. It’s called Lake Loop Boutique and opens this Friday. Its grand opening is scheduled for just a week later on June 1 and 2.

Open most weekends throughout the summer, Sheila Sturlaugson, owner of Lake Loop Boutique, is taking on this new adventure with her daughter Cheyenne.

“It’s just something we can do together and with other ladies and friends in the community,” Sturlaugson said.

The shop is going to carry Vault Denim, stylish clothing, unique handbags, jewelry and several one-of-a-kind gift items. The products are high-end, but sold at affordable prices.

Her inventory is inspired by items she finds through her travels. The kind of trendy items that catch her eye in boutiques are what she will carry.

“One of my friends lives in Massachusetts and owns a small boutique,” Sturlaugson said. “I will be getting some t-shirts from her that will say, ‘Do you know how expensive it is to be me?’ And then it has a little girl with a big diamond on her hand. Everything is really blingy.”

She describes her style as eclectic. Here and there she will have vintage items. The inventory Lake Loop Boutique has in-stock is all displayed in the showroom.

“Come early to get your size and favorite item,” Sturlaugson said.

The line of Vault Denim are blingy and are similar to Miss Me jeans but half the price.

“There’s a lot of little girl, fofo stuff and anything from hair accessories, to outfits, tutus, little girl room decorations, etc.,” she said. “I will also have a bunch of housewear items with flip flops on them that are more lake-oriented.”

Each new weekend there is going to be a whole new inventory from the previous shopping trip.

To add to the excitement, all clothing will be different from what others are wearing in town.

“When you walk out of the store you are going to have something unique. It’s going to be a great place to come back to and shop the next time with all new clothing and accessories,” she said.

As to why this location, Sturlaugson said she wanted to be by the lake and has been friends with Sheri Millang, owner of Sher’s café, for a long time.

“I think it is a win win for both of us,” Millang said. “I think it is going to be fun to have something different up here.”

Millang hopes to work with Sturlaugson to have ladies luncheon occasions this summer.

Sturlaugson said Bottineau and Lake Metigoshe needed a place to go to have fun and shop with a unique selection.

“I’m excited for the opening and to get the chance to meet people, socialize and have fun,” Sturlaugson said.

The boutique is only open seven to 10 days a month and for special occasions. For days the boutique is open, visit its Facebook page by searching Lake Loop Boutique. Tentative hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sturlaugson said she would also be willing to host private parties if it is scheduled well in advance.

The boutique is located at 10720 Lake Loop Road at Lake Metigoshe, adjoined with Sher’s café.

Before Sturlaugson moved back to Bottineau, she was in retail for years, including being a training manager for Victoria Secret for over 10 years. Sturlaugson attended North Dakota State University for retail management.
