On June 14-17 it will once again be time for persons of all ages to transform from ordinary people into a special breed of person—a fair-goer. That is because June 14 marks the beginning of North Dakota’s oldest county fair, the Bottineau County Fair.
The entertainment for the fair this year includes three acts from the midwest: Mylo Hatzenbuhler, The Whitehouse Players and the return of the Johnny Holm Band.
Hatzenbuhler will perform first on Friday evening at a tentative time of 7 p.m. The Whitehouse Players will come on after at approximately 8:30 p.m.
On Saturday the always-favorite Johnny Holm Band will headline the fair for the third straight year at 7 p.m.
“We wanted to get dual entertainment for Friday night, because that went well last year,” said Joan Wettlaufer, Bottineau County Fair Board secretary. “We got Mylo for maybe the older generations, and everyone else too, and then the Whitehouse Players are a new and upcoming band, and we wanted to give them a chance.”
“Johnny Holm has always been a favorite for everybody, and he requested to come back, so we would be fools not to have him back,” Wettlaufer added.
The fair will also include Amateur Night on Thursday beginning at 7 p.m. Winners will become the opening act for Johnny Holm.
The Demolition Derby will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, the final day of the fair.
The Bottineau County Fair has added a few new things, including a brand new website:
www.bottineaucountyfair.com, which includes links to their new facebook and twitter pages.
