Fighting yet another tough day weather-wise the Bottineau boy’s golf team traveled to Harvey last Tuesday to compete in their third meet of the season.

Bottineau totaled a season-low score of 393 and finished in eighth place in the meet.

Rugby’s 324 put them atop the standings. Host Harvey-Wells County’s 353 had them in second, and a 355 put Westhope-Newburg in third place.

The Medalist of the meet was Westhope-Newburg’s Hunter Braaten, who won a tiebreaker over Northern Lights’ Nick Myhre after the two athletes shared an 18-hole score of 78.
Zach Berube of Rugby took third place with a 79, and Darren Young (Benson County) and Koby Houchin (Harvey-Wells County) tied with an 80 for fourth and fifth places respectively.

Freshman Brock Hiltner was the top finisher for Bottineau with a 90. Other finishers used to calculate Bottineau’s finish were: freshman Luke Amsbaugh (96), junior Taylor Parisien (97) and sophomore Philip Neubauer (109).
Also competing for Bottineau were freshmen Alex Bristol (114) and Kameron Mooney (115).

Bottineau’s next tournament was held yesterday at the Minot Air Force base.

The next competition for the Bottineau boy’s team is on Friday in Garrison.

Bottineau’s girl’s team plays in a tournament today in Harvey. They did not have a meet last week.
