The Dakota College at Bottineau Ladyjacks extended their winning streak to six games after an 8-0 beat down of Bismarck State last Thursday at Tommy Turtle Park.

DCB did so despite rainy conditions, it was the Ladyjacks fourth straight win over the Mystics.

“Tough day weather wise but we got through it with a decent effort,” stated Head Coach Wayne Johnson.

The Ladyjacks were scheduled to play three times on the day with the Mystics, but worsening weather conditions forced the teams to postpone the games. No make up date has been set yet.

Amanda Schmidt was solid on the mound for DCB as she scattered four hits and didn’t allow a run in the five-inning complete game. Schmidt struck out four and surrendered only one walk.

The Ladyjacks offense was also solid scoring in each of the five innings, rapping a total of eight hits in the win.
Sophomore Jillian hole had a double and seven other Ladyjacks had singles in the win. Jess Mehling drove in two runs for the Ladyjacks, which gives her unofficially 24 runs batted in on the season.

Johnson was perhaps most impressed by the Ladyjacks defense. Despite the conditions, DCB had zero errors.
Defensively we played well making all the plays we should,” Johnson stated.

The win improved the Ladyjacks to 6-4 overall.
DCB was scheduled to play Minot State JV on Saturday in Minot, but the games were postponed due to weather conditions.

The Ladyjacks made up those games last night, but scores and states were unavailable by press time.
