NAPA is coming to Bottineau and will be opening a store in the former SuperValu building where the company will be offering the community and its surrounding areas good quality parts and equipment at a reasonable price.

“We have a store owner who is currently looking to expand to different markets and Bottineau showed through our research to be a good place to open a NAPA store,” said Brian Van Blaricon, sales manager for NAPA in Minneapolis, Minn. “The store owner who will be operating the NAPA store is Myers Parts Association, which is currently located in Bismarck and Minot.”

Van Blaricon stated that NAPA will be utilizing the entire building on Highway 5 and will be offering a full line of automotive and truck parts, products for heavy duty vehicles and the farm and agricultural business in the Bottineau area, along with other types of equipment. NAPA will also be offering hydraulic hoses made on site as battery cables for retail and whole sale.

The research NAPA has conducted in the area sees Bottineau and its local area as a productive space to open a site.

“Bottineau, for us as a corporation, is an open market. With an open market for the corporation, we look at registered vehicles, not population, and with Bottineau and the surrounding markets we see around 8,000 registered vehicles,” Van Blaricon said. “So, there is opportunity for us, in terms of the company, for the people putting the store in, and, there is a good bet that some of the oil is going to come east (from the Bakken) in a little bit. So, we see Bottineau as a good area. And, it is also our goal to bring money into the community and assist it that way.”

Van Blaricon added that it is estimated that around five individuals will be employed in the store when NAPA opens, with the opportunity for an increase in employees as the store grows.

NAPA will be coming to Bottineau during the week of April 16 to begin setting up the store. It is estimated the retail store will open sometime in or around May 15.
