Two wins over top teams in the state gave Bottineau 19U a confidence wave to ride into the state tournament next weekend.
Bottineau beat visiting Crosby and Bismarck on Friday and Saturday both by a score of 4-2.
Against Crosby Bottineau scored the three goals in the first two periods to jump out to a 3-0 lead through two periods.
Ashley Blue scored two of the three goals, while Erin Severson added the third. Credited with assists were Morgan Klebe, Natalie Bahr, Alyssa Acheson, Karlee McCloud and Shelby Pedie.
Crosby stormed back into the game with two consecutive third-period goals, but Klebe shut the door with 7:09 remaining in the third.
Klebe, the captain, took a pass from Blue and pushed it past Crosby’s netminder to solidify the victory.
Jacie Ceglowski was stout in net stopping 33-of-35 Crosby shots.
Bottineau continued their winning ways against Bismarck on Saturday.
Bismarck jumped ahead early with a goal at 15:44 of the first period, but Bottineau would score three consecutive times including two to open the second period to take a 3-1 lead.
Blue score two of the goals, while Klebe notched the other, as well as an assist on the first Blue goal.
Bahr assisted on both of the second-period goals.
Bismarck notched a power play marker late in the second to draw within two. Again Bottineau would shut the door as Blue went unassisted past the Bismarck defense for a hat trick.
Ceglowski again played well between the pipes with 27 saves.
Bottineau improved to 18-4 on the season and will be one of the top seeds in the state tournament which begins on Friday in Fargo.
