Shattuck-St. Mary’s prep is a nationally recognized hockey school with players like former All Star goaltender Martin Brodeur’s son Anthony and current NHL forward Derek Stepan’s younger brother Zach.
So, its no surprise that the uber-talented team flattened the Dakota College at Bottineau Lumberjacks the past weekend in 10-0 and 7-1 wins.
“Shattuck St. Mary’s is a great hockey team and a great program,” stated DCB Head Coach Travis Rybchinski. “Our guys saw it first hand this weekend as we dropped two games to the Sabres. There is a reason some of these players will make a paycheck playing the game.”
The Sabres fired more than 120 shots at DCB goaltender Troy Chandler, who was one of a few players that Rybchinski stated played well.
“This weekend saw some good play out of the dynamic duo Robin Danielsson and Nick Sutton who logged a ton of minutes,” Rychinski stated. “We need to fine tune some things up in our end for the following week to gain some wins before our season ends.”
The losses dropped the Jacks overall record on the season to 8-18-1.
They will play at Williston State tomorrow and at Minot State on Saturday night to end their season on the ice.
