Two Willow City men were arrested in McHenry County on Jan. 28, and have been charged with a number of crimes after a high speed chase and a manhunt on foot through two different counties.

According to the North Dakota Courts Records Inquiry, the state’s online court records website, Brent Ellis, 28, and Jason Ellis, 31, have been charged with a total of 41 counts, which includes 28 felonies and 13 misdemeanors.

Brent Ellis has been charged with 18 felonies and seven misdemeanors, while Jason Ellis has been charged with 10 felonies and six misdemeanors.

The two men are brothers and the charges came from an incident that started in Ward County after they tried to escape local law enforcement in Minot and ended in McHenry County near Granville after the two men attempted to escape on foot. The chase and manhunt for the two individuals had over half a dozen law enforcement agencies involved.

The two brothers are currently in jail, with one in the Rugby jail and the other brother in the Bottineau County jail.
